conservation - Martins Meadow 14

Martin’s Meadows are among the few flower-rich hay meadows still left in Suffolk. As they have never been fertilised, sprayed or drained, the site supports a wide range of wildflowers. They are maintained by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust who are always grateful for any help, so a few of our members went along one Sunday to help with ground clearing and site management.

Wood was moved, stakes were cut, fires were burnt and a good time was had by all.

Putting aside memories of bringing in a note to get out of PE, some of our club members attended a charity dodgeball tournament organised by Live Well Suffolk to raise money for Chance for Childhood.

Following an extensive training session of watching the film, Dodgeball, our team did about as well as might be expected, but the event as a whole raised £800 for the charity, so we could gain some benefit from our aches and pains the following day!
